Tom Thornbury,

Thomas J. Thornbury Associate Director of Sales

In his position, Thornbury acts a liaison to consignor and buyer interests, cultivates relationships with horsemen in emerging markets, serves as a member of the yearling inspection team, and assists with the organization and administration of all auction sales at Keeneland.

Thornbury grew up on the farm owned by his father, John Thornbury, and his partner, Dr. Robert Copelan, where he was involved in training and farm management, and assisted in equine orthopedic surgery. He spent nearly 10 years at Airdrie Stud, owned by former Governor and Mrs. Brereton C. Jones, working first as yearling manager and later as general manager.

He is a past president of the Thoroughbred Club of America and the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers’ Club, and has served on the board of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders. He is a founding member on the board of the Blue Grass Farms Charities.
