Carlos Palermo, Jockey Club Brasileiro, OSAF

Carlos Loretti Palermo was elected president of Jockey Club Brasileiro in May 2012. He was also elected president of OSAF in April 2015.

Built in 1926, Jockey Club Brasileiro (Gavea Racetrack) in Rio de Janeiro is a replica of the old Longchamps at the Bois de Boulogne, Paris. Jockey Club Brasileiro (Gavea Racetrack) at Rio de Janeiro is one of most beautiful and pleasant places in Brazil. It occupies an area of about one million square meters, between the mountains and the sea, just beside Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, under the statue of Cristo Redentor.

Jockey Club Brasileiro has 15,000 seats. There are restaurants, as well as theaters, bars, and other places of leisure, that together make it a place of fun and entertainment. It has stables for 1,800 thoroughbreds, two race tracks, one of turf and one of dirt and has all the facilities needed including a veterinary hospital and surgical center.
